Dr Lee was accedited as an Eye Specialist / Ophthalmologist in 2007. In her first year as General Ophthalmologist, she was actively involved in clinical teaching where she had initiated the continuing-medical education / CME programme for the Medical Officers and the Post-Graduates in Ophthalmology serving in Penang Hospital. Due to her excellent clinical work and research publications, she was conferred the "Excellent Service Award" by state Ministry of Health, Penang in 2008.

 

She then developed a special interest in Glaucoma after seeing many glaucoma patients become blind from this progressive irreversible eye disease. In 2010, she was selected for the Glaucoma Subspecialty Programme under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, followed by a scholarship to pursue a Clinical Fellowship in Glaucoma (Adult & Paediatric), in Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, United Kingdom.

 

She was well accepted and trained by world renowned Glaucoma Expert Professor Sir Peng-Tee Khaw; who is the Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Adult & Paediatric Glaucoma. He is also the Director of the UK National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Centre in Ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital and University College of London. In Moorfields, she worked in Childhood/Paediatric Glaucoma and Open Angle Glaucoma Clinics under Professor Sir Peng-Tee Khaw and MsMaria Papodopolos and Mr Jonathan Clarke, Angle Closure Glaucoma Clinic under Professor Paul Foster and Ms Winnie Nolan, Uveitic/Inflammatory Glaucoma Clinic under Mr Keith Barton and Normotensive Glaucoma Clinic. She also had experience working with Professor Anand Viswanathan who is an expert in Glaucoma Visual Fields and Professor Garway–Heath who had produced numerous papers on Glaucomatous optic disc structures and functions. She passed her exit qualification examination (CCFT) under the Ophthalmology Subspecialty Committee in Glaucoma, Malaysia upon completion of her training. She is one of the very few Glaucoma Specialists in Malaysia who have a Glaucoma CCFT in addition to a Glaucoma Fellowship abroad.

 

She was posted to Hospital Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban, Malaysia to head the Glaucoma Services and then to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang as Consultant Ophthalmologist and Head of Glaucoma Services. Dr Lee left for private practice in 2014 after having served in government hospitals for 16 years.

 

Dr Lee is currently a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Specialist at ParkCity Medical Centre and Subang Jaya Medical Centre under Ramsay Sime Darby HealthCare. She writes and speaks fluently in 3 languages; namely Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and English. She also speaks a few additional dialects namely Hakka, Cantonese and Hokkien.
